Vincent U. Ohaju

Vincent U. Ohaju is the Trauma Medical Director at CHI St. Joseph Health Care System, Bryan TX.  Prior to that he was the Associate Chief for the Division of Surgery and Neuromuscular Services at Essential Health (formerly St. Mary’s Medical Center) in Duluth, Minnesota.

Dr. Ohaju received his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas.  He completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, and fellowships in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.  He is board certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care.  Dr. Ohaju is a fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.  He has been the principal investigator for several clinical trials.  He serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth MN where he received the honor of Community Physician of the year in 2007 and 2011.  Dr. Ohaju has been honored by his peers and received “Top-Doctor” for seven consecutive years prior to his relocation to Texas.  This award is presented by Duluth Superior Magazine, local publication.  He is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University since 2015.  

Dr. Ohaju is a Paul Harris fellow and past Vice President of the Lake Superior Medical Society.  He served on the Minnesota Committee on Trauma, and currently with the Society of Critical Care Medicine, where he serves as a Consultant for Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) course.  He is a member of Eastern Association for The Surgery of Trauma and serves on the Board of Trustees at The College of St. Scholastica Duluth, MN.  He is a member of several non-profit organizations including Silver Creek Institute and a founding member of VOOM Foundation.

Michael A. Essien

Michael (Mike) Essien is a Principal/Intellectual Property Attorney at Essien Law, PLLC practicing corporate and intellectual property law with a focus on corporate transactions, patents, trademarks, copyrights, non-profits and e-commerce.  Mr. Essien’s background includes work as a corporate and intellectual property attorney at law firms, and at 3M Office of Intellectual Property Counsel.  Mr. Essien is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patents and Trademark Office, the State of Minnesota and Federal District Court of Minnesota.  He is also a member of Ramsey County Bar Association, Hennepin County Bar Association, Minnesota State Bar Association, American Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association, Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association and the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers.  

Prior to entering the practice of law, Mr. Essien worked for several years as a quality, process and new product development engineer at 3M.  He is a named inventor on two issued US patents.  He has extensive experience in petrochemicals, adhesives, paints, coatings, microprismatic and retroreflective film technology for the transportation safety industry, and process engineering. 

Mr. Essien received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma.  His J.D. is from William Mitchell College of Law where he was a member of the Law Review.  Mr. Essien was the recipient of the William Mitchell Alumni Association Student Award of Merit for exceptional contributions to the College.  He volunteers with the VOOM Foundation as Board Secretary, is Nigeria Country Director for Books for Africa, and the President of Association of Nigerian Engineers in Minnesota.  He is the Legal Counsel to Nigerians in Diaspora Organization – America (NIDO-A) and Multicultural Foodservice and Hospitality Association (MFHA).  Mr. Essien is also an adjunct professor of Business Law at Concordia University and University of Wisconsin, Stout.

Greg Goldman, CPA

Greg has been with the firm of Kolquist, Seitz, and Goldman LLC since 1978 and an owner since 1985. Since graduating from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1974, he has continually served in the public accounting profession. He practices in the areas of personal and business tax and financial planning, management services, business valuations and litigation support. Greg is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Past President and member of the Duluth Chapter of Certified Public Accountants. Since 1988 Greg has been a member of the Duluth Harbortown Rotary Club. He is a YMCA member and former chairman of the Duluth Area Family YMCA Foundation. He also serves as Treasurer of The VOOM Foundation and the Duluth East High School Foundation.

Raza A. Khan

Raza A. Khan is a Hospitalist Internal Medicine Physician at the Unity Hospital in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul’s. 

He received his medical School degree M.B.B.S. from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, Did Residency in Internal Medicine from University of North Dakota, Fargo and then practiced as a Hospitalist in St. Mary’s Medical Center (Essentia Health), He was the director of the grand Rounds CME program held at St. Mary’s Hospital every Friday.  Has been involved in research in alcohol withdrawal and has given talks on this. Was adjunct Assistant Professor of the University of Minnesota Duluth, Was also the Vice-Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the Unity Hospital. He is a graduate of the physician leadership Collage from University of St. Thomas Minnesota.

Dr. Khan is on of the Original members of the VOOM foundation. He has seen the foundation grow.

Dr. Paul Jahn

Dr. Paul Jahn is the Chief Medical Officer for ARdVRk Technologies from April 2015 to present.  His undergraduate degree in Biology is from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey.  Dr. Jahn obtained his medical education from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Medical School, Newark, New Jersey.  His internal medicine internship was at Englewood Hospital, Englewood, New Jersey and his Diagnostic Radiology residency was at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, New Jersey.  He did his Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at New England Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Dr. Jahn is licensed in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Hawaii, North Dakota, Minnesota and Pennsylvania.  He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and Board certified in Radiology and Interventional Radiology.  Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Jahn has held the Chief Interventional Radiology positions at The Queen’s Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii; Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, North Dakota and St. Mary’s Duluth Medical Center, Duluth, Minnesota.

Dr. Jahn has held academic appointments at Monmouth Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, University of Hawaii Medical School and University of North Dakota Medical School.  He has been both Vice President and President of the North Dakota Medical Association.

John O'Brien

John has had over 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, biochemical and life sciences sectors.  He has held executive positions in sales and marketing, general management, and portfolio investment at the following industry leading, multi-national organizations, Amersham International (GE-Biosciences), ICI and AstraZeneca PLC (AZ).  He is the founding investor in ARdVRK Technologies, an advanced augmented and virtual reality company specializing in healthcare.

John recently retired from AZ after 23 years of service.  During his career at AZ, he had responsibility for numerous commercial functions  As VP, Oncology US, he led the $1Bn business unit with products in breast, prostate and lung cancer.  He has led groups in the US, UK and Sweden that were the commercial interface with the drug discovery and development organizations. He completed his career reporting to the CEO, establishing and running the Portfolio Investment Board, which provided governance over all material, R&D and licensing/acquisition investment decisions.

John also received an appointed by the Governor of Delaware as Vice Chair for the Delaware Science and Technology Council to assist the state in developing strategies to promote economic development.  He received his B.S. in Biology from Seton Hall University.
