At the heart of the VOOM Foundation’s mission is a deep commitment to compassion, education, and service. The Ann Bluejack Healthcare Advancement Educational Program was created to honor those values by ensuring that healthcare workers in Nigeria receive ongoing training and support—even when our international medical teams are not present.

This program is more than an initiative; it’s a promise. A promise to walk alongside our Nigerian partners, to share knowledge, and to invest in local talent so that quality care reaches those who need it most. Through workshops, bedside training, and virtual education, the program helps strengthen hospitals and empower healthcare professionals across the country.

The program is named in loving memory of Ms. Ann Bluejack, a retired nurse whose life was defined by quiet generosity and unwavering kindness. She believed in helping those with the least, and she lived that belief every day. After a long career as a nurse in Victoria Island, she retired to a small village where she founded a school for underprivileged children—continuing her calling to serve and uplift others.
One of the many lives she touched was that of a young man named Vincent Ugochukwu Ohaju. Seeing his potential and determination, she paid for his first semester of college with money from her own life savings. That young man would go on to become the founder and CEO of the VOOM Foundation.
Ms. Bluejack’s selfless act was more than a gift—it was a spark. Today, her legacy lives on through the thousands of healthcare workers being trained, and the countless patients receiving care, because of the VOOM Foundation.
To date, VOOM has provided over 90,000 hours of medical training in Nigeria. But behind every hour, every lesson, and every patient is a story of hope, love, and one woman’s belief in the power of helping others.
